The Best Overnight Rafting Trip on the Lower Salmon River

Hey, friends! I'm Addie, and I'm 10. I want to tell you about the coolest overnight rafting trip on the Lower Salmon River in Idaho with my family!

We got off the bus and met our guide, Captain Scout, who gave us life jackets and helmets. We hopped into our raft, and I was super excited to start our adventure.

The Lower Salmon River had awesome rapids! My favorite was "Snowhole." It was so thrilling, and I felt like a brave explorer. We also saw cool animals like bald eagles and bighorn sheep.

We stopped for lunch on sandy beach’s, ate tasty sandwiches, and listened to Captain Scout’s stories. After more fun rafting in the afternoons, we reached our campsites.

The guides helped set up tents for anyone who wanted one but I preferred to sleep under the stars on the cot they gave me.  Dinner was always great and we had s'mores by the campfire, and shared our favorite parts of the day. I slept well, listening to the river, and couldn't wait for the next day.

At the end of the trip we had an amazing jet boat ride!  I was sad when the trip ended, but I'll never forget this amazing rafting trip on the Lower Salmon River. You should try it too!
