Reservation Policies
COVID-19
Traveling with groups in the outdoors is an inherently risky activity. We advise anyone who is high risk for Covid-19 to consult their doctor and to consider if they should partake in this activity. We may take some steps to specifically mitigate or reduce the risk of transmitting communicable diseases, such as Covid-19, but we can not reduce all risk and everyone attending one of our trips should be comfortable with those risks.
Booking Requirements
- Name, contact phone number and email address are also required for all bookings.
- Please note that some trips have a 3% or other set land use recreation fee added to them.
- All trips require a paid deposit to be considered confirmed.
Deposits and payments
Single Day Trips:
- 31+ days prior to launch 30% deposit due, balance due 30 days prior to the trip.
- 30 days or fewer to launch – Full Payment due at time of booking.
Multi-day trips:
- All reservations require a 30% deposit payment to be considered a valid reservation. Full trip payment is due 30 days prior to the trip departure date. If the trip is not paid in full by the 30 days prior to the trip launch the reservation will be subject to cancellation by Orange Torpedo Trips.
Cancellation Policy
Single and 1/2 Day Trips
- 72+ hours prior to trip launch: Eligible for a 50% refund of their full trip payment.
- 72 or fewer hours prior to trip launch: Forfeit their trip fee.
- We do not cancel trips due to smoke, rain, or thunder/lightening. Please consider purchasing travel insurance.
Multi-day Trips
All multi-day Trips
- We have a no refund policy on all deposits and balance payments. To protect your travel investment please purchase travel insurance. Our team is able to help you purchase a Travel Guard Insurance policy. These policies can cover you for travel related delays, medical related issues which can occur on a trip as well as evacuation costs if that was required. Most importantly, life happens during the time between when you book and when the trip is scheduled. So, have a policy that will help protect your investment in case you are unable to attend.
- We do not cancel trips for smoke if the river is still open. In the event of nearby forest fires, we continue to run trips until the river is closed by the local authorities. However, travel insurance policies may cover you in the event the smoke is considered hazardous for you to travel. Policies vary so please read the policy you choose to purchase carefully.
- If the river is closed due to authorities closing it (fire, road closures) or effectively closed due to flood conditions, payments can be rolled over to the following season or a different trip in the same season, but refunds are not provided. Please purchase travel insurance which may cover you if the river is closed.
Lodge Based Trips (Wild and Scenic Rogue River)
Due to limited lodge space and their cancellation policies, we have more stringent cancellation penalties than on our camping trips.
- 61+ days from trip launch: If you cancel 61+ days prior to the launch of your trip 50% of your deposit (15% of the total) may be transferred to a trip the following year. The other 50% of your deposit (15% of the total) will be forfeited. You are also welcome to move to a different trip in the same river season for no charge.
- 31-60 days to trip launch. If you cancel 31 to 60 days prior to the launch of your trip 25% of your deposit (7.5% of the total) may be transferred to a trip the following year. The other 75% of your deposit (22.5% of the total) will be forfeited. You are also welcome to move to a different trip in the same river season for a 15% of the total re-booking fee.
- 30-0 days prior to trip launch. 100% of the trip total is forfeit. You can move to a different date in the same season with a 20% transfer fee.
- Find Someone to replace you. If at any time you need to cancel for any reason, if you find someone to replace you, you can receive a full refund.
Camping Trips
- 61+ days to trip launch. If you cancel more than 60 days prior to the launch of your trip 50% of your deposit (15% of the total due) may be transferred to a trip the following year. The other 50% of your deposit will be forfeited. You are also welcome to move to a different date in the same river season with no fee.
- 31-60 days to trip launch: If you cancel more than 30 days prior to the launch of your trip 50% of your deposit (15% of the total due) may be transferred to a trip the following year. The other 50% of your deposit will be forfeited. You are also welcome to move to a different date in the same river season for a 15% (of the total due) transfer fee.
- 30-1 days prior to trip launch. All booking fees are forfeit. You can move to a different date in the same season with a 20% (of the total) transfer fee.
- Find Someone to replace you. If at any time you need to cancel for any reason, if you find someone to replace you, you can receive a full refund.
Travel Insurance
We strongly advise purchase of travel insurance through Travel Guard. Many policies include coverage of deposits and balance payments towards the trip which are non-refundable through Orange Torpedo Trips. Coverages can also include evacuation fee coverage, which if you need to leave a trip early for any reason, transportation coverage will be at your expense. Discounts
Groups of 10 or more qualify for our group discount of 10% off per person.
We offer a 5% active or retired military discount.
